So today we are going to discuss topics that you have chosen for your speeches. Please note a couple of things: 1) Is this an informative speech or an oration? 2) If it is an informative speech think about the following a) Visual Aids b) What are you teaching and how will you teach it? c) Is this something that most people are not aware of? d) Why is this important? 3) If it is an oration think of the following: a) Does the topic oppose the statue quo? b) Why should the audience care? c) What is the opposing side and can you refute it? 4) For both essays a) What is your thesis b) List three points (your order of development) that back up your thesis c) Sources - can you find expert testimony for your topic? d) What is your personal connection?
